I've been holding off on experimenting with mods in WAR for a few reasons: one, I consider it part of my duty to cover this game as it is in its purest, Mythic-delivered form; two, I'm lazy; and three, I wanted to wait until after a major patch, let things settle a bit (and mods catch up), and go from there.

So I'm earmarking next week to trying out Warhammer Online mods for the first time -- and I'm asking you for guidance!  I'm willing to try out any of the mods YOU find useful and fun, and give you my thoughts on them.

Don't be nuts or list every mod in existence (I am going to limit it to only one or two mods a commenter), just list the "must have's" that you feel I should include in my gaming experience.  Comment away!

I am a R27 Engineer festering in the Badlands. Here's what's usedful for the class IMHO:

ActionBarColor - turns abilities red when target is out of range. Nice for grenades both with and without throwing arm tactic.

Killing Blow - every now and then a blind squirrel gets the nut and an engineer gets a death blow. Really nice for cherishing these moments. Made me start watching Destro health bars a lot closer and switch to rifles to finish them!

Warhammer Scrolling Combat Text - really nice to be able to see what abilties enemy is using to take you down so quickly (all of them).

Also try AnywhereTrainer and RvrStats to have more of a "WOW-like" character window with talents and PVP stats without going to a trainer or the Tome.

All these seem to working after the 1.6 patch today as well.

Hrm, just a few huh?

Tome Titan - You've been asking for a lot of the stuff in the ToK to be opened up. Tome Titan has sections for History and Lore, Bestiary and Noteworthy Person sections that detail all the unlocks by zone with map markers and such. One of my favorite mods

zMail Mod- Could.not.live. without this mailbox mod. Honestly, Mythic needs to learn from this and add all it's features to the mail. There's mass mail, allowing you to send pig piles of things to an alt without needing to send individual mails. There's highlight and "open all" that opens all messages you've checked and gets the items from them and a "select all money" button that does that same thing with all your gold from auctions. Saves a ton of time.

But there's so many!

planb - essential for Black Orcs, auto-rotate action bars based on plan state
keeptracker - see status of keeps across all tiers/realms
ISAssistTracker - get your group organised
sendstuff/junkdump/junkdelete/bulkmailer - sort your stuff!
fastfriends - sync friends across alts
objectivetracker - see timers on BOs in your tier pairing
targetinfowindows - see enemy class/type
scrollminder - never fly without a guild recall scroll again

And many more.

Hard to limit it to a few, but here goes:

Squared - to reduce the size of parties and warbands and ease klicking for healer characters etc.
WindowCleaner - to clean the junk from the screen
SquaredAssist - for easy assisting
ISHealBot - for easy healing
nStanceHighlighter - for switching stances smoothly
CloakHeraldry - to fix that annoying bug for guilded characters
RvR Stats Tab - for fun stats
AutomaticNeedGreed - for erasing annoying popups in scenarios
Approximate FPS - for checking FPS
AnywhereTrainer - to see trainer stats wherever you are
SpamMeNot - don't play without it

I recommend Curse Client (www.curse.com) because updates can be automatically downloaded and installed when you are out of the game. It has been reliable for me.

EZcraft - Makes all the crafing drag and drop boxes in your crafting windows turn into pull down menus that list all the applicable ingredients for that particular slot.

Bestiary helper - Adds a button under the mini-map that you cna click on that will pull up a window and list co-ords of tome, title, and beast token unlocks. It defaults to the current area you are in, but you can open it to check any map in the game.

Those are my 2. I also seccond Curse Client. as an external mod management program.

If I had to choose the absolute bare-essential addons it would have to be these two:

- BuffHead
- Warhammer Scrolling Combat Text
