So with me being a healer and all, I finally tried this whole "Renown Farming" trick so many of us hear about.  It's not so much of a trick, as it is really just playing solo but healing out of group.  I never truly understood this as I played my Rune Priest, until now.  I always asked myself, "Why the hell would I want to be the only person in my group?  My group heals are so good!"

While that does certainly hold true, making 10k Renown in a scenario is definitely reason enough to be in your own party.  Take for example the below:

Renown Farming

11.7k Renown, in a Caledor woods.  I came across this over at the Warhammer Alliance RP forums.  Xeno did 360k healing, far and away more than anyone else in the scenario, but not really out of the question, as he seems to be the only healer for Order.

Funny thing about this is, Xeno is Rank 63!  At that rate, he'll be rank 80 in no time.  Playing casually even.  Because healing does not take into consideration the Realm Rank of opponents, you will get the same renown healing a rank 1 as you would a rank 80.  Although your side still needs to be doing damage / killing people to receive renown.

So the question I must ask myself, do I exploit this feature?  While normally I tend to shy away from such things, using this method is far and away better for gaining Realm Levels.  It's almost unfair......but could it be totally unfair?  I mean if a solo healer can earn 11k renown in a scenario by doing 360k healing, don't they deserve it?  After all, if it were'nt for them, that side would have probably lost the scenario.  It's also not as if other people were not getting any renown.  There are several people with upwards of 6k renown, granted that could be because of them being a lower rank to begin with.

We'll see what I decide, as it is right now though I think I will try it out.
