The net will somehow survive, us included, and we will condemn them from our blogs and put sanctions on their web sites. That is how problems will be solved in the post-apocalyptic world.

I agree on part and tend to disagree with some of your rationale.
I contend that the MMO genre is not for everyone. Ironically, its marketable to nearly everyone. And while I tend to agree that the quality of the games are overrated, D3 looks like a solid addition to the franchise, not so much Wotlk, and SC2 seems like a solid addition to that franchise.
My response though is, why would you want every game of a genre to mimic every other game of the same genre? D3 and SC2 are being faithful to the series and not buying into recently proven formula. And they are adding upon the series. Your disdain for Blizzard seems unfair. You played their products for 10 years and based on one person's perspective, suddenly they're the anti-christ and you're an unwilling victim? How absurd can you get?
When you go on to discount other's "accomplishments", thats where you probably lose nearly everyone. These claims are based on faulty self-centered logic of subjecting others to objective standards based on your own subjective experience. Its been a long time since I've actually played the game, with a taste of playing like an hour like a month ago, but I can fairly say that your % of fun playing the game is not representative of my own and likely not representative of the majority of people. And because people play the game for various reasons, your subjective view probably doesn't apply to the majority of people.Â
I never played the game to merely acquire pixels on my character. Sure, its a part of the game - acquirement, which for some is more fun than others. And I am sure some people find a measure of success in the various accomplishments they pass and don't necessarily try to say they beat the game. Its a common feature in all MMOs, not just WoW, that MMOs don't have a distinct end. Theres always more to accomplish, subjective to your view of whether thats worth attempting or not. Accomplishments tend to be driven by incentives, a small reward at the end of your task. But the incentives are not why people play this game. In my opinion, you got too wrapped up in the illusion of acquirement in the game. And I can also safely say that most of the people who play WoW don't do it for financial gain. So I am preety sure you can throw out your "you don't make x amount of dollars".Â
How can you enjoy a game if your primary motive is to earn money? You think people who practice playing FPS several hours a day for tournaments play that much because they honestly are having fun 100% of the time? I can guarantee to you that at one point you were having fun for more than 10% of the time. And that you played the game too much, that it burned away that joy. It dwindled because of your addiction to the illusion of acquirement.
In short, your deconstructionist argument fails to hold any merit. Your absurd generalization of everyone playing the game for the same motive is off the mark.
The most merit in your whole post comes from your quote. "You know dailies are just a second job right, you go do some chores and get paid."
If you treat the game like a job then you probably do have a second job. Thats about it. Clearly you did that. Clearly you "all of a sudden" have some grand "revelation" that the past 10 years of your life have been wasted and that Blizzard is somehow to blame? How are they to blame, you ask yourself? Oh, lets make up some bull**** "reality distortion field" that blizzard has schemed and thats the reason you have no life. The evil nazis caused 9/11 and the evil commies are behind the faltering economy so they can take over the country!

Until they go on a crusade to clean your soul.
Also you're right. On one hand you have the creationist and the other hand you have militant atheists. Nothing lies between.
