I will admit, the Ward system is one I'm not incredibly familiar with. After reading your article, I must agree that it seems like the biggest bunch of hoops to jump through. I was under the impression that I could acquire some warded gear by getting my RR up, but I take it this is not in fact possible?
So basically without wards, I can't even attack a fortress lord? Even as dps and I don't pull aggro? If this is the case then it needs to be re-evaluated. this is crazy. And you're right, the game does not inform you well about this mechanic at all. I mean, I just want to RvR a lot and still be competitive, and if I can't do that without wards then that is an amazing oversight in the game design.Â

Nice read , Syp. While not the same, I have a similar situation with my fiance. We used to play WoW as a duo, but now with only one gaming pc in the house, she is still very supportive of me and my hobbies. She also had a hand in me starting my own blog. She encouraged me to write, as she enjoys hearing me get enthused about whatever subject I'm currently obsessed with. I try not to bore her, of course, but knowing that she supported my hobbies, gaming or otherwise made her a keeper. Maybe when we have a ton of extra cash, we can set up another gaming rig and we can play online together again, but that's for the future. Anyway, just wanted to share, good article, it was a refreshing change from the nerd-on topics we usually speak of here.

I did look at it, and I prefer it to WoW. Your opinions are just that, opinions. You can go on all day about how much the game sucks and whatnot, but if you really feel that way, then STOP PLAYING IT. If you are so cynical about the game and know it will fail, then leave the game and community behind and bask in the glory of your self-righteous analysis.
We aren't being fanboys here, but you aren't being constructive in the least with your criticism. No product is ever perfect, WAR is getting bugfixes and improvements, yet you complain about how there were so many to fix. I guess you don't remember the WoW launch. I guess every MMO should be perfect upon release cause you know, there is never any way to fix bugs or adjust design choices, nope, no way.

I see what you are saying here, Syp. I would suggest that Mythic introduce something like a "guild descendant" feature. This feature would allow a guild leader to "give his blessing" to another fledgling guild, conferring a certain number of guild ranks. Let's say 50% of the guild leader's guild rank. So a 26 guild GM could confer 13 guild ranks to a new guild. We'd have to put a limit on it, of course. Say each guild can only get bonus ranks ONCE. Or the receiving guild MUST be below Rank 5 to receive the blessing. Something of the sort.
Guild leveling doesn't have to become a game-breaking feature. Mythic has plenty of time to address the issue.

Unfortunately the vn boards are filled with the full spectrum of internet dregs at their worst. I honestly don't understand why MJ keeps posting there. When I'm reading through his posts there, some of the responses make me want to reach out and throttle the posters.
Vn is full of people that are perfect example of Gabe's Greater Interned D---wad Theory. I hate vn. Could you tell?
